Table for four, please.

We hear the term 'Wingman'. We might smile to ourselves at our definition by experience. Group dates were the required setting for myself when I was in High School but now that we are adults, why do we seem to find ourselves in that same setting again? Now that women are becoming more aggressive in the dating culture, Wingwoman has slowly taken its own place next to the infamous title Wingman.

For myself, I know that having one of your girlfriends with you is like having your security blanket. You are going to go on that date regardless but it just makes it that much more comfortable when you have one of your best friends sitting on the other side of you. She helps buffer any awkward feelings, fills in the gaps of conversation, helps support your end of the conversation, diverts the attention of your date's friend, and so forth. Of course there are always stories that come with being a Wingwoman (or Wingman), some more horrifying than the next but it always makes for a good conversation the next day. However, the most rewarding part of the whole date is seeing that your friend is coming home (time not included) happy and that you did your part.
